MSH Clinical Haematology Fellowship Training Program Guide
This is a four-year fellowship programme for Malaysian doctors who have completed postgraduate specialist training in Internal Medicine, either through the Master of Internal Medicine (MMed) programme or an equivalent recognised parallel pathway.
The first three years consist of structured, work-based clinical training in gazetted Clinical Haematology centres. During this period, trainees rotate through core areas including clinical haematology, laboratory haematology and haemopoietic stem cell transplantation services, with progressive responsibility under specialist supervision.
Trainees are required to complete two summative examinations during the programme. Part I, a theory examination, is taken in the first year, while Part II, comprising both theory and clinical components, is undertaken at the end of the third year. In addition, trainees must complete a research-based dissertation as part of the fellowship requirements.
After successfully completing the examinations, and three-year structured training programme, trainees proceed to a final one-year period of supervised clinical haematology apprenticeship. Successful completion of this fourth year leads to graduation from the Clinical Haematology Fellowship Programme.
