Outgoing President’s Message

Dear MSH Members,

It has been a pleasure to serve as your President for the last 2 terms over 4 years. I would like to thank the Society for your support and in particular  the Hon Gen Secretary  Dr. Tan Sen Mui, the Hon Treasurer A/Prof Bee Ping Chong and all the council members who have played an important role in ensuring that the MSH continues to grow and play an important role in promoting the cause of Haematology in Malaysia.

The past 4 years have seen the MSH establishing it's physical presence in the office in Oasis Ara Damansara, staffed by our able Office Secretary, Ms Elizabeth Thong. For the first time we could organise and manage our society better as all the files and documents could now be housed in a single place. With professional tax and accounting management it was also easier to manage the Society finances and we also managed to overcome the GST hurdle when it came to force in 2016.

The Society continues to oversee the post-graduate training and also encourage education and research through disbursement of funds to members for these purposes. The management of these and the growing membership is now made easier with the database and workflow software based on Joget which we established for the last 1 year now.

All these in place will hopefully make the transition to the new council, headed by our new President Dr. Jameela Sathar , a smooth one.
I wish the new council all the best and I am sure they will continue to take the MSH to new heights.

In the meantime I shall continue to work in the background on the technical aspects, especially the website and our MSH mobile app (http://onelink.to/mshapp).

My best regards to you all.

Dr. Alan Teh
