Welcome Message from the Organizing Chairman
On behalf of the Malaysian Society of Haematology, I would like to welcome you to the 16th Malaysian National Haematology Scientific Meeting organized by Malaysian Society of Haematology.
Over the years there has been tremendous progress in the new understanding of pathophysiology of many haematological diseases and also in the laboratory in the design of tools to distinguish biologic entities, ascertain diagnoses as well as monitoring of disease response. In the arena of treatment, numerous new targeted therapies have improved not only the survival of patients but also the quality of life.
The organizing and scientific crew has worked tirelessly to bring forth an exciting programme and it is indeed an honour and privilege for us to be able to invite many eminent and expert speakers who are willing to share their experience and thoughts.
The theme of the Meeting is ‘Targeting Haematology Toward Excellence’. We continue to stress on the importance of science in this meeting. Also the clinicians, pathologists, nurses, trainees, scientists and laboratory technicians, pharmacists and transfusionists are all gathered in a similar platform.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the crew members without which this meeting would not be possible. I wish all the participants have an enjoyable meeting and a pleasant stay in Ipoh.
