Welcome Message from the Organizing Co-Chairperson
It gives us great pleasure to welcome all of you to the 14th Malaysian Society of Haematology Annual Scientific Meeting devoted to “Towards A New Era of Precision Medicine” in Johor Bahru from 20th to 22nd April 2017.
While progress has been made in the treatment of haematological diseases, physicians are still challenged by cancers that fail to respond or develop resistance to treatment. Current advances in technology have enabled us to uncover the molecular makeup of diseases and translating these findings to targeted therapy and monitoring disease outcome. The goal of precision medicine is to personalise therapy based on individual patient variation, to correctly select the right treatment, for the right patient, at the right time. With this in mind, the organising committee bring together many experts and key opinion leaders to discuss on the latest advances in both malignant and non-malignant haematology, with the aim to apply the knowledge and achieve better outcomes.
We also hope this meeting will serve as a platform for networking and collaboration among the participants, throughout the meeting and beyond.
